my machanic finally got the chance to start work on my swap. we want to start clip up before we start anything. We put a battery, fuel pump, gas and check all the fluids. we turn the key it cranks but doesnt start up. we trouble shoot and see that the gas is going through but the plugs arent getting any spark. the ecu and fusebox all have power. What could be the problem??? bad coil packs? also when i first uncrated the clip there was a couple of wire harness cut and on the floor under the steering wheel. every body said they were dash plugs could this be the problem??? now these plugs are missing :3d_frown: how important are they??

check the coils if they are cracked use epoxy or jb weld.. should fix the prob a bit.

if the coils are cracked put heat shrink around it
make sure the ecu is getting power there are 3 wires 2 switched and 1 12v constant but the easiest way to check is if the check engine light comes on when u turn the key
also make sure the igniter is there and connected (black box by fuse box) if thats all good then u need to check the wiring for the crank and cam sensors (be careful they are shielded so u cant splice them u have to replace the whole wire)

First place that I would start would be the EFI fuse. Then I would pull the codes. If no codes, then check for spark and then finally check for fuel. All else fails, try another ECU.
