I’m doing a 1jz swap right now. I’m looking for people that may have a setup like I’m doing to answer a few things.
I have what I was told a soarer 1jz, most of the wires are cut from the ecu (and a few others) I found an Aristo ecu and found the pin out for the ecu, I had to as the ecu pins are totally different than the supra 1jz and soarer. Is anyone running a Aristo 1jz ecu? If so did you use the traction control pin out for anything. Is there a traction control brain box? And why is there more than one VSS or speed sensor on the pin out is that for the traction control?

Norm I would of just left the pins empty, but I would like to have traction control and further more would like to wire it so that I can turn it off and on with a switch. Any help would be great.

I really don't think you'll find anyone who has a 1jz aristo ECU. And if you do, don't listen to anything they say.

hum, well I have a ecu that says 1jz on it and the pigtails are identical to a aristo pinout I found on a aristo fourm. I'm not aware of any 1jz that uses this type of connector for the ecu because every write up i find the connectors are different.

does anyone's ecu connectors look like this? if so where is this ecu from?

I think I'm just a little lost in where the parts are coming from but. I'm going to crack open the ecu and make sure the pinout I have is right. before i start making a mess of the connectors.

I have a 1jz with an aristo ecu, but it def did not come that way.

By any chance, can you post pictures of the ecu?

I'm scratching my head in this on to. There's even more to mix it up. I didn't have the connectors for the ecu so when I was in the junk yard I checked a ES 300 and the connectors where the same.

It's not a must that I use this ecu, I have a soarer 1jzgte ecu as well but i thought maybe someone would know about it. maybe it's an obdII ecu with vvti and we just have not seen many. If that's the case then the vvit must be driven off its own brain box or the pinout i have is wrong. looking at the pinout chart shows no pin for vvit or solenoid for vvit.

do you have a picture of the engine, you can tell by the look unless they just sent you the wrong ecu with it... which does happen a lot with 1jz's

I was just wanting to know about the ecu really. I had to piece everything together the ecu I bought not knowing of the change in 96. now we all know what the 96+ ecu looks like and is not going to work.

it seems to me that the supra community needs a complete swap guide, that is pages long and full of pics.

I have used swap guides before and forums to find my info but its not going so smooth with my supra. or maybe its just me?

its common for connectors to be the same for different cars so thats not a biggie there.. i think it was the NSX that used some of the same connectors one of the supra ecu's have.

post a picture of your engine i'll tell you if it'll work or not :p

im still wondering what your question is exactly

That is not an aristo ecu, it looks like a JZX90 ecu.

They supra community has tons of write ups on how to do swaps. Its different when you are trying to piece something back together and have all the wrong parts.

The 1JZ came in alot of different chassis and had different variations of ecu's.

What you should probably do is sell everything you have and buy a JZA70 harness/ecu or a soarer harness/ecu.

It will make your life awhole lot easier.

putting the p/n into the EPC confirms that it is a JZX90 ECU :)

Ok whats this EPC you talk of? I want to use it to make sure I'm getting a JZA70 ECU.

I'm going to need a ecu soon and want to not buy any more fakes.

the Toyota Electronic Parts Catalogue, it's what the parts guys in at the toyota dealers use to look up parts ;)

I think there's an online version somewhere, but I don't know the link, I downloaded the whole thing from a torrent ages ago (yes I know, naughty naughty, Toyota paid shitloads to have it made and developed for them and them alone, but meh), but forget where now just go and do a google search etc and you should come up with something
