ya that probably wouldnt give him the best powerband, unless he has some supporting mods done to take adavantage of the late spool that would have

I had a GT40-88 on a 1JZ, which is about the same size.......


....if you want power after 4500, go right ahead, but personally, I would say it's a little too big for a 2.5L. 3L it's good though :)

it depends on which t-78 turbo your talking about, the T78-29D will spool around 500rpm quicker than the bigger T78-33D..

i have a T78-33D on my 1JZ and i love it the kick in the back feeling is awesome

Hits hard right at 5000. The lag isn't so bad, except that all your fun is ruined quickly by the rev limiter.

So with an aftermarket ecu, cams, and fuel it would be really fun.

If you get the smaller exhaust housing that would help. If you can get a deal on a kit, take it. You can always upgrade the block to 3 liter later and get some spool back.

yes it is my car has 272 in/ex cams and remapped ecu and rev limiter lifted to 9200rpm.. amongst other things... so i make the most of the turbo
