I vote that a 1.5jz is really a 2jz with a head swap, not a 1jz engine with a 2jz block. The block is what decides what engine it is.

i agree, engine and serial number is on the block and not on the head..... unless we go way back and pull the 18rg/2tg/3tg/4tg out of toyota's ass since yamaha used to stamp the engine codes and serial numbers on those heads as well.
