Is the engine cold or warm. if its cold keep you foot on the gas pedal just enough for it to start.

If the car is cold, check your temp sensor. It's known to cause this.

There is no CSI on JZ engines, that is done electronically by the ECU. Timing is set with three mark and it's electronically controlled, there is no manual adjustment like the 7M.

it does it when its warm too, i try and let it sit on for a sec then start it (like a diesel haha) and sometimes try and turn the key as soon as i put it in, could my bigger injectors be an issue?

Sorry, I post on my phone using Tapatalk so the signatures aren't displayed readily.

What are you using to tune? Still check the coolant temperature sensor.

Are you getting codes?

If you apply throttle when you start, does it run until you take your foot off the throttle?

Driftmotion 60-1 single turbo kit. Big FMIC. 2jz FPR/550cc injectors, Walbro 255, Stainless 3" turbo back exhaust. still on stock ecu, recapped in september if my memory is good, and no codes, i checked friday cuz i run tend to run rich awhile after i boost in a single gear, but thats another story, but it runs like a champ, just takes longer than it should to crank. i might get a video of this dilemma.

What sort of capacity battery do you have? Mine would give me a little trouble starting until I got an Optima with something like 800+ CCA's... Fixed that issue.

I'd say its the tuning or temp sensor.

When you make changes with the SAFC, its done when the engine is running. There is no change to the fuel added during cranking. The ECU thinks you have 370CC when you really have 550CC and I don't believe the SAFC does any corrections until the engine is running, so you are theoretically running rich on the initial start.

What you could try is swapping out back to 370CC injectors and remove all corrections off the SAFC and see if it starts quicker. If it does, you know what the issue is.

The power you are shooting for is best controlled with a standalone.

that explains why it kinda revs up right when it fires, hmmm, i have a stinger in my closet, its going in in the very close future, so ill just live with this cranking until then, thanks for your help i love this site
