I put in a fresh set of spark plugs since the ones that were in it were soaked in gasoline and gapped them to .022 (NGK 6097's) and it fired right up. Only 1 problem, it's still running rich. Atleast it runs, so I'm happier. I will deal with the richness later.

I would try gapping your plugs to 0.028 and see if that solves the issue. Were your spark plugs carbon fouled by any chance? This could be the case because of a really rich mixture or wrong heat range. I know in my climate the 6097's would foul very quickly and I had to switch to 1 step hotter plug to prevent this. Never had any problem with the temperature either.

Honestabe, if you're on a basically stock 1jz with stock ecu, the .022 isn't going to be necessary. Your car will probably run a lot better @ .028 as mentioned before. My car won't run @ .028, but it doesn't have the stock ecu or...........stock anything actually.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Stephen.........I wasn't trying to rephrase what you posted, just adding that I agree with you.

I just regapped the plugs to .028 and took it for a good test drive. Once fully warmed up I lauched it and redlined it through the top of 3rd gear. At that time the CEL came on. The car is still running pig rich and will run 10-11:1 and will hit below 10:1 when idling. When I got home I left the car running and pulled the codes. I got codes 31 and 42. 42 is the speed sensor signal which I don't care about (need to check the ECU connections since I have a Greddy Speed Limiter Cut hard wired in). The other code is for the air flow meter signal. Should I check my MAP?

Maybe the map has something to do with it running so rich. Are you sure you don't have any loose vacuum lines or ic pipes? I wish I was more help, but God made me extremely pretty and not so bright............:sarcasm:

What about the air temp sensor? Can someone post a pic of where I can find it (I know, somewhere near the air intake pipe) and what it looks like? It is in the low 40's here and recently it was below 0. I'm not 100% sure on the loose vacuum lines, I know the IC piping is good since I'm running full boost, but I'll check.

My 1J is running now, although very rich. I should have a new intake air temp sensor within a couple days.

I do have the exactly same problem as you, It wont start. How could I check that my MAP and Air temp sensor works correctly, or should I just buy a new one?

If you're Supra won't start, you may want to try doing several things. First check your ignitor, MAP, and spark plugs. Then start going through the rest of the system to see what isn't working correctly. Your problem could be very different from mine.
