I checked fuel pressure, spark, fuses, power, and grounding. I'm a little curious about a couple vacuum lines that go to nothing. The Supra will try to start but fail. Even if it does start it will only run for a few seconds (motor can be revved up), and then dies promptly. Here's pics, anybody see anything wrong? The line in the 2nd pic goes to the line in the 3rd pic next to the diagnostic port. Higher resolution available upon request.

Circuit open relay??? huh

lol me and you have the same problem, in the diagnostic box on the intake manifold jump B+ and FP that bypasses the circuit-open relay. if car runs fine after, the circuit-open relay is fried. If not check power to the fuel pump, pump might be bad(thats were im at:naughty:)

The fuel pump is less than a year old. Hmmm

Ninja edit: I just did the fuel pump bypass as described by ^^^ and fired the car right up. It ran fine for about 5 seconds and then died and wouldn't start again.

hmmm

Just because the ECU doesnt look wrong doesn't mean it is. Try the new igniter and if that does not fix your issues try to borrow a friends ecu.

I just looked at my ecu and I spotted 1 capacitor leaking on the over head circuit board where the gray, purple, green, blue and yellow wires on it.

I am pretty positive this is causing your problems. My advise is to send the ecu to Aaron at Driftmotion. He will take care of you.

Most common cause of no spark is the lower crank sensor wiring gets wet/cracked/disconnected.

Still, igniters do go bad often, so try another one.

All of the disconnected spots that you show in the pictures, don't go to anything and are not required to run.

I have a replacement 1J ECU being overnighted to me from Pennsylvania. Should be here by noon tomorrow. If that doesn't work I'm going under the motor to start looking at connections.

Just got my ECU and plugged it in, the Supra is ALIVE!!! Had to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and fill the tank back up with Premium (it had a little bit of regular in it) and my loping problem got solved. Next step is to get it retuned.
