So, is there a list some where that cross references parts for other Toyota motors for use on the 1J?

wasn't a big deal. I didn't get mad or bitch about it. shit happens and I forked over the money to get the car back on its feet.


I don't have a cross reference. Lucky for me, jose and aaron's shop are within short driving distance so if I needed something I could ask.

Actually I meant the stock ECU...you know, how it works and what control parameters. Similar to the manuals you can get for the 7M and what's in the TRSM. You know I'm a tech type when it comes to this stuff Joe..lol

Nothing new here. These predictions will all come true. Those that get rodknock in their 7M, will get it in their JZ also. You are the problem.

That being said, sometimes shit happens, even to those with proper maintenance.

Actually, it is just a design flaw.

That's exactly why we need this thread. There's always jokes between the 7M and the 1JZ and how the 1JZ is the cure to people's problems. It's pretty annoying.

1JZ cures your problems cause its a better design. Plain and simple.

It isnt a bandaid tho. If your an idiot, no engine will last. you need to maintain it.


But an engine is an engine. Im sure I could go grab an Enzo Ferrari and get rod knock in it in a matter of an hour.
