I'm not sure on that Jay, but I'll double check later. From the guide I used the exhaust clearances are .010-.014 I have professional help (Aphxero) coming up next weekend to fix my baby.
Did you actually measure it in the real world?

apparently I did not. But I damn sure will be sure that it is now. I'll probably put my cams back in shortly since they were right.

Keep in mind that you can't actually adjust timing on JZ motors. A timing light is a nice aid for diagnosis, but that's it.

Let's be logical about what you changed:

You swapped injectors. Are all of your connections solid? Try unplugging the injectors one at a time to see if the engine runs better or worse. If no change, then that's your problem.

Cam swap- check cam timing. Make sure all marks line up.

Adam, .014 is going to be too loose. Hopefully you got them as close to .010 as you can since that's what is called for. Good luck.

I am going to say that your cam timing is off. Make sure your crank pulley is at zero and that both of your camshafts point straight up.

that's what I would check first. That the crank is at the right mark, it can move on you even a little and your messed up.

Sounds like you just didnt line the timing marks up right on your cams and your crank, its very easy to line them up and put the belt on and they wont be lined up any more, its a pain sometimes. thats my guess.

good luck.

I was just screwin with you, but really how much more would hks cams been over the usdm ones after machining them?
And also how much better are hks's performance wise
Basically would it be worth the cost?

About $200-300 more. All depends on what degree of cams you get. The HKS cams come in higher degrees than the 2J cams. It's worth it, but bang for the buck 2J cams are one of the best mods you can do to a 1J.
