Hey all,
I'm posting in here because I sort of took over hottscennessey's "7M Stinger" thread. My appolgies hottscennessey, hope I didn't ruin your thread too much :icon_razz

I've finally got my car going pretty well. Here's the details
Stinger 4424 standalone ECU
1G-GTE core engine, DFL and TBC on top of pistons + full rebuild
7M-GTE igniter and coils (replacing 1G's dizzy and single coil)
7M-GTE 440cc injectors (stock 1G's are around the 310cc range)
1JZ-GTE IAT
Audi wastegate
T3 turbo, 58mm inducer on cold side :biglaugh:
700x300x76mm bar and plate intercooler
2.5" alloy intercooler piping
Innovate LC1 wideband wired into air/fuel gauge and into the Stinger

That's basically all the go-go-go bits, or the stuff that "matters" :)

After a bit of mucking around with cold crank and various other timing fueling issues, I've got the car to run, pretty well.
It'll be going on the dyno on the 27th September for a proper tune.
Should be able to break 320rwhp without too much hassle. 330rwhp would probably be my limit being a widdle 2 litre hehe

I'll let you all know how I get on.

If you have any questions about the 1G's install etc, fire away :)

Thanks to SO many of you for the install help:
bigaaron
suprra_girl
IJ
jetjock

Just to name a few :)

Thanks again - stay tuned (hehe no pun intended :p )

very nice, ive wondered for a while about how hard itd be to make a FFIM for the 1G, that stock manifold looks restrictive as hell

Well you'd think so, but the stock manifold will out flow the head by quite a bit, so no need to upgrade just yet :)

Great to know you got it running! Congrats and you didn't ruin the thread at all.

Yeah my main priority was to get it running - regardless of what it looked like :icon_razz

Compressor housing and cam covers will be coated in a chrome like finish, exhaust housing will be heat coated in silver.

Other than that, just tidying up wiring and hoses

I don't think that 330rwhp is your limit. I have seen Evos putting down anywhere from 3-800 hp (don't know if itsat the crank or all-wheel hp) and they are a 2 liter motor. Get some head work done, get some cams or get some custom made, larger injectors and get a gt35r or a dbb 61, twin pumps and other supporting mods. You already have the standalone. Its a Supra. I have a video of a Corolla with a 1g-gte running low 11's. I know that the Corolla weighs alot less but you can still put the power down. Remember... we all (Supra turbos) came DETUNED!

I only say 330 is my limit with the mods I have right now. I want it to be a daily driver. If I decide to break out with big power, then sure, I'll get more work done, but for now, getting it running and getting 330rwhp (fingers crossed) is enough :)

Yeah, Ron in Australia has a 1G in a Gemini running 10's with 440rwhp

Oh yeah - and here's a picture of the log
A short pull in 4th just to see what the fuel would do.
Sorry about the size - :)

that doesn't look half bad for a baseline :)

Yeah - its pretty good. I'm going to use the tune analyzer feature to adjust the cruise and coasting mixture as its rich when cruising and lean when coasting

Does anyone have issues with the LC1 reading WAY lean, as in 20:1 when idling after first starting the car? The sensor reads fine when I'm driving along, just when I first start the car. Maybe its getting too cold?

Took my car to the dyno yesterday.
Was hoping for +300rwhp.
I only managed 240rwhp  on around 11:1 AFR
I will scan the dyno sheet tonight.
There are a few things I need to sort out. First is the stupid miss caused by dodgy leads. I have to try and source some leads that fit into the stupid 7M coil's. Thanks Toyota for making them different. The miss was VERY noticable on the dyno around the 0psi mark, right from around 2,500rpm till about 5,000rpm. But what I didnt realise, was, I thought the exhaust sounded strange, like there was a miss, but I couldn't quite figure it out, then last night I realised. It must be the dodgy lead(s). Once I fix the miss, that will help with boost control, and therefore AFR.

Only problem is that I cant just get new leads and go boosting, as the miss would have caused unburnt fuel in the exhaust and therefore a low a AFR (like the 11:1 I had).

So if I fix the miss, my power will go up (hopefully lots) and my AFR would go up??? So I really should get new leads then re-dyno?

Ah sigh.

Altho I must say, I had 250rwhp before, and this one feel's a lot stronger on top end!!

What is your ignition timing map looking like?

I cant remember off the top of my head. I'll post it up tonight also.

We tried less timing and then a bit more, but it didnt really change much. Only about 1rwkw.

I'm pretty sure the problem is my dodgy old leads and maybe a dead plug (they're new but cheap ones).

I've got new leads and plugs so I'll put them on this weekend.

Here's my maps:

MY MAP

I made a little video of my dyno.
You can really hear the miss through the wastegate around the 3,500-4,500 mark. In the video it sounds like the miss goes away but listening to it in person it was still missing right up to 6,500-7,000rpm but just not as bad.
Would my worn/bad rings cause the miss?
I have put new leads and plugs in and its still there. Maybe a bad injector?

DYNO VIDEO

The video is about 12MB
