1ft. x 2ft. pot hole + low pro tires+ 45mph....

the pot hole...

my DD scion... BBS RGR rims... $3k.. bent one of them and compressed the shock tower into the engine bay about an inch.. so its an inch lower on the drivers side... to drive stright you have to turn the wheel about a 1/4 turn..

1 week old gixxer 1000.... hit it right after me bent both rims and allmost went over the handel bars...

how fun ....

so what do you guys think i should do? make the city pay for it? (we dont pay thousands in taxes for nothing and this road has needed to be paved for years..

or make an insurence claim? (possibley make my insurence go up...)

Try city first..

I used. hit this one pot hole comming off the freeway all the time. It is bad enough to make my car feel like it is going to fall apart. Luckily I remember to avoid it now and no damaged happened when I did hit it.

Definetly take it up with city hall.
My friend hit a raised manhole cover when they were paving roads in my town. There was no cone around it so he saw it too late and bent a rim and snapped some lugnuts. The town ended up paying for it.

Must have been real scary for the guy on the Gixxer, must be a good rider to keep it up.

With the city, one incident, I would say its not gona happen..but 2 people, definatley. Esp if the bike rider was in danger of coming off the bike from it. Ive lived here for my whole life so i know all the roads to avoid...but that should definatley be filled before it causes a blow out or a crash...esp on a 40mph road(if thats what it is) And if you were going 40...slow down!!! haha JK

ok cool. and we also got a cop to wright a report for evidence and stuff. and btw it was a 35 zone but it is a very heavy traffic state road and everybody goes 45-50 on it. i got a ticket last month for doing 55 on the same road... lol

its a good thing you got a police report. i went through this last year. go back and get lots of pictures of the pothole, pictures of the damage, and estimates. do it soon, florida DOT likes to take its time

ya i got a ton of pics. they filled the hole an hour or so after we hit it. just cant wate to be able to drive my supra again... just wateing for some intercooler pipes to come in... but it wont be till the weekend... so im stuck driveing a broken yellow box.. lol

tower damage = frame rack and fun time...

not going to be cheap, but they pay the bill, so make sure it's done RIGHT. Go to a place like Craig's Collision that fixes thing 100% right without cutting corners for the high estimate...

that sucks about your DD, but yea complain to the city about it.

this happened to my aunts car, it ripped the lip off the rim.

we complained and emailed them pics of all the potholes on the road and the one she hit and they paid for the replacement rim and tire, as well as filled the 4 MASSIVE potholes in the road.

i hit a curb at 45 in my mk4 supra and only scuffed the rim didn't even dent it, though it on the balancer and it was off a mere 0.25oz
