Hi
This is my first post and fist attempt at any car modding! I am helping a mate who has stripped out a 1990 mk3 for use just on the track. All the interior and dash has gone. The car is running ok and starting from the ignition. The main problem at the moment is we have plugged the combination metre back in and the boost/oil pressure/tach and water temp are not working. The fuel light works and other lights are working on turning the key. I have checked the gauge fuse to be ok. From the tsrm i think there should be voltage across A10+ and A8 ground but have nothing, is this right?
Any ideas on fault finding the combination meter?
Any general tips on removing anything electrical that is not required and any do/dont's with the wiring.

any help would be great complete novice at the moment

cheers guys

Do you have the boost sensor plugged in in the engine bay? Are all the body connectors on the engine harness plugged in? All the plugs on the gauges plugged in all the way?

All the gauge plugs are in all the way. Will have to check the boost sensor but as far as i know my mate hasn't moved anything in the engine bay. There may be some plugs on the engine harness unplugged its a bit of a mess at the moment. I will look into it over the next week. Cant get to the car for a few days. Do you know how many plugs roughly and where the main route for the engine harness goes? (Drivers kick panel up along windscreen base off to engine and ecu i think?)
