1988 350 Swap! First Supra build.

Alrighty lets get this going. I have been looking for a late 80's early 90's RWD Tuner to do a 350 Chevy Swap into. I had owned a 1974 Datsun 260 Z and planned to do it to that but it needed more work then I was willing to put into it. I saw this supra on CL and always wanted one but the prices were just too high for my pocket, so i kept looking. It was a no motor, no trans, no interior rolling shell White Targa top supra turbo. (No turbo) I came and looked at it and we made our deal. That Saturday I came with a trailer and loaded it up.
We got to my buddies house where it would be stored and worked on for a little while and learned a valuable lesson...DON'T LET WOMEN DRIVE!

After we got it down I did a more in depth inspection and found out the targa top seals leaked, the paint was heavily oxidized but straight body, Front window was cracked, brakes were in need of some love, the engine bay needed a good cleaning and painting, interior needed to be cleaned and most of all the wasp nest needs to be removed from the front diver shock. (I am allergic) The 7mgte engine block needs to be removed and sold. Number 3 piston shot but fine.
Just finished buffing and waxing the Supra. The paint is beautiful! Very glossy and removed a lot of scratches and dirt and grim stains.

After a closer look I have found that I have a 90 LSD in the rear. More pics coming soon. Picking up interior on Saturday no seats carpet or headliner. It's the beautiful maroon! YUCK! Blue dash...Black paint here we come!
PLANS
Move battery to rear seat area.
Paint interior and install
Remove what's left of the 7M-GTE engine
Clean and paint engine bay
Sell parts I don't need
Find some new wheels
Clean up wiring
Remove A/C and heater crap
Re-seal Rear lights
Before and afters of buff and wax. (they are actually after then before order)

UPDATE: I got the interior on Saturday and got the chance now to take some pics. My luck he found some front seats! I will go through it more and see what I am missing and he will look and give them to me for free! I can see where the 3500 pounds comes from. The drivers seat has to count for atleast half that!

PLAN clean, sand, prime, paint, new upholstery. Colors - panels charcoal gray - Cloth Dark Purple - Switches and such Black. Got gray and black seat covers coming. After a serious deep cleaning!

Seems like the 350 swap is the kiss of death when it comes to swaps. Very few make it to the end.

I am all the way for it no doubt. I have some family matters that popped up and have to sell it sadly I plan to get another some day but have to say goodbye to this one. The full cost would be roughly 2k which isn't bad at all for the full 350 swap.If I don't sell it though I will continue the build however. Just at a slower pace
