I know alot of people are running into issues with swapping and wiring with pre89 supra electrical.

Since I noticed there is no pre 1989 EWD I took the liberaty to scan and share one with the supra comunity as soon as i do some file triming cleaning up i will export it to PDF and share it with you guys making my wiring collection complete.

If any one happins to have the EWD with the factory sun roof to share I would apreciate it also which fuse is for the factory sun roof thanks for your help.

I've been looking over the recently hosted TEWD over on www.cygnusx1.net and I believe it is the pre-89(i.e beginning part of 89 and earlier) one. He says it's the 89 one but the pin numbers match up to the ones on my 87. Not trying to take away from what you have done Evilempire, just putting the info out there.

mAAAAn!!!! I was hoping it was for the 7M-GTE:aigo:

I bought the TSRM, EWD, and even the Owners Manual for my 86.5 when I bought it.

Because of yours truly^^^
"If you want them to keep printing manuals and supporting our cars, you might want to consider buying the manuals rather than ripping off copyrighted material... Just my $.02, ymmv..."-Supracentral.

But went NA-T so I wish it was for the GTE, its all good man. Good Work. I'm sure many people will appreciated it:icon_bigg

Thanks Evil, this is nice work and appreciated.

The Cygnus TEWD is definitely 89. It lacks the external altitude compensation (AC) sensor and supermonitor that are in the 87 TEWD posted here, both deleted starting in 89.

The manual covers both and yes, it is appreciated. It might sway me from having to constantly pull mine off the shelf to answer questions, although I find dealing with the actual books easier.

Much easier I find also, but not always as convenient. I must of skimmed through it to quickly to see.(I have no problems right now haha)

hmm good point, then how come it reference pre-89 pin locations?

If you look at this page:

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?S=Main&P=49

it shows the "check engine" light on connector M1 pin 8, but on 89+ cars it is on connector M1 pin 9. Which is the same as the one that evil posted.

Strange.

Thank you for the host. I find it much easier to use my pda phone to read manuels and work on cars. Dont have to worry about tearing pages and finger prints clear off the phone easier. My favorite pages on this is the electrical wire routing pages 119pg that you could not find on any of the online tsrms.

I am still keeping an eye out for the factory sunroof schematic.

There are tons of errors in these documents. I'll list a few I've run across:

Check Engine indicator light circuit at combo gauge connector, TEWD says C5, TSRM says C6

Cruise Control Main indicator light circuit at combo gauge connector, TEWD says A9, TSRM says A11

ABS indicator light circuit at combo gauge connector, TEWD says C7, TSRM says C8 (C7 is actually gauge power)

and so on. So I'll put my money on M1 pin 8 being simply another typo.

Remember there was a group of people having issues starting their supra and there was several ideas on how to fix it including even adding relays. I told most people to remove the relays and wire it streight to the ignition or use a push button starter setup. I found the "UK 1986-1988 supra TEWD" no relays are in the starter circuit path at all! if you also look closely at the US versions the relays are not in place because the ignition switch cant handle the current but they are in place to open the circuit because all the relays are in series with the ignition.

Here is a snap shot of the UK TEWD if you wire your car like this it will start 100% of the time unless you have a bad ignition or starter.

Here is the link to the U.K. TEWD http://www.4shared.com/file/88539310/c0c8fc56/86-88_UK_Toyota_Electronic_Wiring_Diag.html
pretty rare it was hard to find.

Yes, that series connected starter relay is there just to support the factory anti-theft alarm. Strange they left it in for the Canadian cars. Perhaps the alarm was a dealer installed option in Canada.

That was just to provide you an example, they all reference the pre 89 pins and connectors.

Speaking of the Theft Deterrent look at it's wiring in that early EWD. So bad I had to ring most of it out on my own years ago. Fwiw that relay was never at fault with the "mystery" starting problem on the cars I've fix. And my USDM car with original wiring and stock components in that circuit has always cranked. Always. That's neither accident nor good luck...
