Hey guys hows it going, i have a problem with my supra. i had a problem with my supra starting and i found out it was a dry-rotted vacuum hose which i replaced. but while it was sitting it some how got a new problem and now it has problems starting and running. when its started and i give it gas it gets up to about 3K rpms and it backfires and dies. i think im getting too much fuel. i tried adjusting the fuel air ratio but it woulnt work right because some how my safcII isnt working right because its not hooked up to the tps. my buddy told me i could take the safc off and it should run right again but i think im gonna need a new wiring harness because its all effed up. i was wondering if anyone knew what i could do to make it work right. should i get the new wiring harness or a new safc and rewire it to all the right components? please help!!

start by hooking up the afc correectly or removing it. then try pressure testing the intercooler / hose system the bike tube trick works great !

let us know what you find. Its rare for toyota electronics to fail.

it would also be a good idea to check engine codes. if you plan on keeping the car for a while a new wiring harness is always a good idea. they are nice and flexable, pretty, and expensive. but you will not have to worry about wiring problems as long as your safc is wired in properly.

it does sound like a vacuum leak or IC pipe leak. any air leak in the system really plays havoc on a maf system.
