Kai - Do you have access to Pennzoil Platinum in the UK? They make both 5W-30 and 5W-40 Euro grades...it's very good. From what I can see on the Castrol Magatech it's a good Group III oil, but IMO, the Pennzoil Platinum is better due to the additive pack. Pennzoil has made excellent progress in the last few years formulating their oil.

Going to a 5W-30 is a good decision...especially since you make a lot of short trips. Short trips are hard on a motor...the 5W-30 will flow better under those conditions.

Yah - there isnt much need for me to drive more than the local area. One or two times i've gone about 30 miles out, but thats rare. As for pennzoil - i honestly don't know. I'll have a look, but i think Castrol GTX is the best we can get.

At idle, warm...the 1st mark is good, a bit high if anything...the TRSM says 4.3 psi or greater. 40 psi warm at 3000 rpm is also in TRSM spec...toward the low side a bit, but still in spec.

Keep in mind, oil never thickens when hot...it thins to the specified viscosity in centistokes (cst) at a 100 deg C operating temp. (when warm, at 3000 rpm) will give you at least the minimum 36 psi oil pressure per the TRSM.

Still getting a rattle on the top end under 2000rpm when cold. When warm its still there, just not so noticeable....It's NOT rod-knock as i said before. It's top end - coming from Cyl #2 area, just under the coil pack.
