Im getting ready to do a maual trans swap. I was wondering how hard it would be to wire up the ac ecu to the trans. has anybody done this. I appreciate the help

with some searching you would have seen the auto harness plugs right into the body and ecu of a 5spd car so long as they are the same year. 86-88 and 89-92 with some in the 89 year going either direction.

it will work fine...

you can use a manual tranny in an auto car with barely any mods, but the other way around requires a lot...

Great thanx that will save me some $ one other question what shall i do with the power switch indicator light on the dash. should i just cut the wires or wire them together? sry if this is a stupid question.

you can always swap the cluster if you need the cleanest install...

IIRC since it won't have the connections to the tranny they don't light up, could be wrong though...

i dont think im worried to much about the interior yet and i also plan to do some custom gauges in the future im just wondering if i can just cut the wires out.

one other thing im wondering is what kind of hole im going to have to cut in the tunnel. does anybody have pics of what they did for a swap any help is greatly appreciated.

none from what I've seen

it's a tight fit as the hole is smaller than the hole in the 5-speed cars, but it will still fit from what I've seen..

just remove the light...


and no cutting holes is required for an auto --> manual swap.

You must reuse your own ecu and wiring loom.
Just splice two wires together for the car to start properly. Splice two other together for the rear lights to work.
