As for the 550 injectors ... what would you recommend for a direct drop in injector ... so the clips on the original harness would fit? ...

- as for FPR i guess the only recommended one is aeromotive one ... it's quite expensive but i guess it;s the only way to go if you want to do it right? any comments?

- as for exhaust system ... well since stock elbow got only a bung for narrow band O2 sensor and I'm planning to go BIC DDP and full 3" straight anyways ... I guess I'll do everything right from a start than ruin something with being cheap

-as for wideband ... what would you recomend ... something that would
get along nicey with A/F electronics?

- as for electronics - wow thats a "river" topic ... to many diferent ones on the market ... suggestions ...

as for IC - I'm getting Bigaarons unit with stock iC pipes [before I can afford hardpipes]

Basically I'm looking for 350-400 HP setup for a daily driven car that will be reliable [as supra cn be when done right]

All comments welcome

Mike

no. the only "drop-in" ones are high impedance. stock are low impedance. the drivers are meant for low impedance.

yup, do it right or do it twice.

eh?

any WB will do....some are better than others. i sell innovate WB products...

depends on your goals, decide on WHERE you want to be and then decide HOW to get there. i sell the MAFT line of products...

now they are not technically new, but venoms are direct drop in. if you search here youll see good and bad stuff about them.

yup, listen to the doc, i would change the ic pipes before the ic, if your low on cash.

Now ... I hear about Low/ high impedance type ... yet it was said that you can adapt high impedance do our supra by removing the resistor ... Is it commonly done or bast shot would be for low impedance with clips and splicing the harness with new clips?

sure you can slap in high imp. injectors and pull the resistor....but why? do it right the first time....if you're afraid of cutting and soldering wires, you shouldn't be attempting to "modify" your car...

you are confused:

all 7M-GTEs have low imp. inj.
<'88 GEs have low imp. inj.
'90+ GEs have high imp. inj.

Aeromotive is not expensive. Actually one of the cheapest out there.

Expensive is the WELDON 2040 fuel pressure regulaotr ;)

someone show me a failed toyota fuel pump. im so tired of people basing their guesses on it being old. i ran the lex afm and 550s off the charts rich with the stock pump and regulator on an sp61gt turbo up to 18 psi daily driven on pump gas. someone show me some concrete proof of a failed pump killing a motor because it was old and not some other reason (crap tune, low octane, old tired motor etc)

my pump failed. it wasnt flowing enough fuel for 10 pounds of boost. i blew 2 head gaskets because of it.

its not a guess, its CHEAP insurance.

replace your fuel pump FIRST.

this was on a brand spanking new rebuild too i might add.

i replaced the injectors with NEW 550s, AFPR and still detonated.

after i replaced the fuel pump (and 2nd blown head gasket..) EGTs came down and detonation stopped.

On the subject of the stock fuel system, and safety, I already have a walbro pump, and new filter, But I'm getting low on cash from lots of unexpected surprises, and doubt i'll be able to get a AFPR setup by the time i'm ready to drop in the engine. Would it be ok to run the walbro pump on the stock FPR & lines? Will I run rich?
