Thanks for the comments guys. The front plate was cut by the PO so as not to obstruct airflow to the aftermarket intercooler. I guess he also put the emblem in the front grill, I thought that was a factory thing. lol

Thats what I figured, good idea, not sure if its legal tho. You said the PO did it, dont you get new plates when you transfer it to your name? Here in MA they would never allow that.

Clear Coat?? - LOL !!!!

Clear coat was not used by Toyota during this period. As mentioned above, single stage paint was used. This is where the paint and hardner (clear) is mixed together prior to spraying. Us supra owners dont have the luxuary of clear over our original paint.

Anyone who fools with single stage paint knows it's bitcy and tempermental when it comes to paint swirl correction.

wow,your car looks great.you did a great job rejuvenating the paint.i would never attempt that on a car with a single stage paint job with the fear of burning straight through the paint.
