im running ten psi on my stock supra 7mgte it seems fine but when i first installed the boost controller it was only boosting about five i thought stock was supposed to b eight am i boosting too much?
MKIIINA said:stock is 6.8 psi. 10 psi with no other mods (intake/exhaust) is asking for trouble. you are pushing things too hard with too much restriction on the components. i suggest taking off the boost controller until after you get caught up mod wise.
Yea, something along those lines. Get a bigger exhaust and at least retorque the head before you turn up the boost.johnathan1 said:Yea, the stock exhaust system is ridiculously restrictive...it will do more harm than good.
If you have a stock exhaust, more boost won't help you make any extra power...it will just generate excess heat, which is already a problem for 7M's.
Do you have a stock head gasket or a metal headgasket? Also do you have stock headbolts? If so you should get some arp headbolts.SURUKO said:It is right to go 10 psi if I have a walbro fuel pump and afpr, 3" inch exhaustand k&n intake filter ,can I go for 15psi?
shaeff said:with that said, are you on the stock turbo? if so, you're asking for trouble. 15+psi on the stock ct-26 is just blowing heat.
