Hi, i'm still on my na 7 blade fan from my NA days, but with a turbo clutch. Would i benefit significantly if i switched over to a 10 blade? or is it just not worth the money

the other thing is the clutch i bought was from autozone and it was listed as the same part number for non turbo and turbo models. I remember the clutch being smaller in size that my stock na one, but it is super tight.. my car screams like a truck down the highway, doesn't even sound like the clutch is slowing down

Get that cheap clutch off of there! I bet it's already leaking oil...

I have been through two of those cheapies...one went bad, and wouldnt lock up, causing the car to overheat, and the other seized completely... The Toyota fan clutch is worlds better as far as quality...it will last a long time. And there is a reason Toyota put a 10 blade fan on turbo models...I would switch out both before you fry your motor.

beniefit is 10 blade has more cooling power and vise versa with the 7 blade. it depends mainly on where you live and the weather to know wether its worth the swap to a 10 blade . i live in san diego and the wether is fairly almost the same year round but, im switching to a ten blade for good measures.

won't matter if the clutch is leaking from a seal, since you'll have to keep rebuilding it...

I got one of those cheap fan clutches, and returned it after noticing it's half the size and has a quarter of the cooling fins on it. Toyota put them there for a reason...

i dunno i never had a problem with the fan clutch, its made by asin or however u spell it and its got a lifetime warranty on it. I've been running this setup for months without any cooling issues. thats why i ask about the fan. i guess i will be purchasing one

if its always screaming they might have given you a heavy duty clutch, it will transfer more to the fan because it was designed for towing and such where you need lots of cooling.

^is that good or bad? lol and if thats the case wouldn't a 7blade be better because of less drag on the motor?

its good because the fan is more constantly turning, its bad because of the noise and strain on water pump and belts. I would try to get a stocker on there because its designed to run on the car. But im a firm believer in Factory parts so i might be a little biased...

If its a turbo and the turbo came with the 10 blade its most likely because of the added heat of the turbo. i would try to get a stock 10 blade turbo fan on there with a stock turbo clutch. cant be expensive used...
