7M BLOCK, JE PISTONS .20 OVER, CROWER RODS, DPR HEAD, STOCK JZ VALVES, CHEVY 350 TRANS (WE ARE PUTTING A BRAKE IN IT THIS WEEK TO HIT THE 9'S), MUSTANG THROTTLE BODY, ALL GM SENSORS, DFI CALMAP FROM 1985, AIR TO WATER, A SMALL SUPER 70 TURBO, STOCK REAR.

The bouncing tire was a bad strut, all fixed now. thats why we only made 3 pulls - it only made 629 to the tire but at 15 degrees of timing.

Thats cool. you have to film the 9 sec run. What track are you running it at???

I usually go to lebennon valley dragway in new york to test the car. MASS PIKE west to the end. its only an hour away from springfield. This week we'll hook up the 2 step and swap tranys to a break set up. Ill post when im gonna go if you guys want to come out your more than welcome. ill probably go on a friday for a track rental. less cars = more runs

:eek:ffwall: That is one thing you gotta love about MKIII's.

Many 1000rwhp MKIV's are running HIGH 8's and usually 9's.

Shown here, (obviously), it doesn't take as much horsepower to run as quick if not quicker than a 2J. What is the deal with that? I've always wondered why this is so...either way, VERY impressive run. I'm anxious to see the 9 second run.:icon_surp

Very good Shawn. I'll have to see how far Lebanon is from me.
1985 DFI? keeeee-rhist! You mentioned it was old, but not that old :icon_razz
I'm tellin ya, talk business with Ron Ramirez. One of those short runner FFI's will do you a lot of good....
Duane Stephens (www.carbonfibrefx.com) is around your power level and it netted him an extra 35whp (IIRC) from the intake manifold alone.

Now aren't they from canada? I tried calling one time and got no reply. I wouldlove to get some weight off the front of this car so we can carry the tires a bit.

Duane is in Canada, but Ron Ramirez is in Seattle, I think. WA state somewhere.
Check out the "Misc Vendor" section. Ron's in there. His work is top notch, and he makes them all one at a time, to your specifications, as in vacuum ports, ISC provision, TB flange and size, etc...

Well I think the 5 speed and gearing is what helps the mk3s run times like that with 600 hp and mk4s need 900 to 1000 to do it, they are all geared for highyway, pretty useless normally. One mk3 in MO runs 10.2 and 10.4's with 612 rwhp and stock tranny.
