Can anyone explain to me what the pipe on valve cover to bottom of engine block is for,i have searched far and wide,only thing i can find is the small y pipe that connects both valve covers to tb,tsrm says nothing about the one inch black pipe on front driver side valve cover,HELP PLEASE,its driving me crazy,thanks in advance,mmkkpro

Commonly referred to as the "Mother Fucker Hose" at my house. I've never met one I didn't hate. I once had to reattatch an alternator plug to the harness because I took it off to get to something else (can't even remember what). And, they almost always crack when removed.

OP: to answer your question, its purpose is to connect the air space in the block cavity with the rest of the pcv (positive crankcase ventilation) system in the valve covers which are then connected to the intake air stream.
Thanks everyone,i appreciate the info,i actually had it unhooked at the valve cover,blew through it and the air came out of the connection nipple on valve cover so i know its not stopped up,i bought this car for the wife,156000 miles,and was a one owner car from fla. Im in wv,but he took great care of it,its clean,other than whoever did the #3 gasket and 14 mm plugs its not butchered up,i love it runs so smooth ya cant tell its running without looking at tach,built like a tank,everything but interior lights works so i think i got a good dependable car,anyway thanks guys,mmkkpro
