is there any particular reason why you need the AEM Stand alone?
When you say a thik HG you mean disasemble the engine, deck the head and block and run a MHG right? like what you would need to do with the 7M or basicly any engine to prep the surface for the MHG. and do a mild rebuild? new rings re-hone the cyliders. and all that posibly a new oil pump?
could you just use a Turbo head from a 2JZ-GTE or a 1JZ-GTE and wiring harness and ECU from one of the engines. Or will that cost me more then the stand alone with the turbo, WB o2, ex mani.
I only ask because i want to understand why this is the best course of action. I do not have to have an engine to is pushing the 450HP right away but one that i can get to that point with out ripping back out of the car for some rework
Edit: what is the difference between the 2JZ-GE and the GTE are both bottom ends identical or are different components used? (Other then the Pistons which i know have a higher comp ratio) are the heads the same like on the 7M except for the Cam Shafts?
Double Edit: Also people are talking about the heads in this thread for the 1.5JZ but if you are using the bottom end from a 2JZ-GE isn't the compression ratio different. so then it would not be just the head that is affecting the situation. Or is every one talking about putting it on a GTE short block? Honestly why would you want to do that? I did see a post about The velocity of the air flow on the 1JZ head. What about the design of the head creates this higher velocity air flow? could you not do some port work on a 2JZ head and get a similar out come?
