So i was cruising home from work tonight and decided to cut through town to show off the new ride a bit. I saw a stang sitting off the road with a driver in it and just for fun i down shifted to spool and give him a little BOV action, i ended up accidentally spinning the tires in the process. Nowi must mention i am very new to the manual trans world and i've owned my '88 turbo now a couple weeks. A couple lights down he ended up pulling up to me at a red...i was kinda like crap...one, first gear i still have trouble with (its a stage 4 clutch), two, the engine only has about 350 miles on it so i couldn't push it much. So we continue down the road just playing...i'm spooling just enough as a tease plus we were still in town (45MPH zone). the next red light we went and rolled a bit then just took off. We were neck and neck but i don't think either of us full throttled it (at least i didn't). Finally the last light i asked him if he had a cobra cause it was freaking LOOOOUUUD and he said no, so the light turned green and it was up a steep hill we both just gunned it. We were neck and neck again full throttle (i think) until i missed 4th gear  and he took off...i just let off to save the engine and gas...

It was fun, i didn't exceed 5K RPM simply cause it still is relatively new engine and i'm running richer than the oil company owners right now.

i'm running the 7m with very very untuned SAFCII, greddy controller spec 2 at about 8~10psi, .2 overbore, 3angle valve job ported, 3" turbo back, lex afm, 550's, walbro 255, HPfreaks intercooler, aero FPR, intake, and some other goodies ican't think of right now

Him, well....V8, seems like he chopped off his mufflers, and i would assume intake...other than that i have no clue besides the fact i'm now partially deaf in one ear

I've also been having a lot of trouble with the feul maps (i would think), sometimes theres a lot of power sometimes not during boost...i find when there is lack of power i let off the gas breifly and press down again and the power is much better...any ideas?

in all honesty the only thing this run accomplished was to make me want a BIGGER TURBO...argh...more money to spend

Actually, you don't want to go over 3K with a fresh rebuild. Also change the oil after 500 miles, then again after 2K. There's going to me metal in the oil during the first oil change, so don't be suprised. And have fun!

With all of those mods and a good tune you should straight up rape a mustang with bolt-on mods. He must have been packing a little more than he let on, or you really do have a shitty tune...

Already did a couple of oil changes :bigthumb: . The previous owner had it the first 80 miles of the engine's life, i changed it at about 110miles and the timing and fuel were so off that the oil was black! Luckily, I can acually do timing right (close to) and regulated the fuel pressure better (uhhh not 60PSI!!!! like they had it). Its now at about 350 maybe approaching 400. At the 500mile marker ill change it once more.

:wtc: unfortunately i will say yes to this so far...but i'm rescheduled for dyno tuning for this wed. b/c last time i went the dyno brakes went and he had to replace them, which in turn didn't allow the guy to get to my car in time. This is my DD so i had to take it back.

That's similar to the strategy I'll be using. Heat it up to op. oil temps, dog the shit out of it in 4th util ~6K, let off, down shift to keep the revs high until I'm coasting, cool her down, repeat 5-10 times. Oil change, then baby it for the next 1500 miles with an oil change again at 500.

The new mustangs are pretty fast, my friend has a 07 GT with just exhaust and intake, and he runs consistant 13.3's. So he will need more than just simple boltons to beat one of those.

Think of that big ass motor in that car though. It doesn't take much to make one quick, they respond well to basic mods (intake, exhaust). A friend has an '03 GT will full exhaust (long tubes) and stock intake, that sucker gets up and goes pretty damn fast compared to what it did do stock (I know, I drove it both ways, I was the one that picked out the exhaust setup on it.).

new mustangs dont have SHIT on the foxbody 5.0's

new ones are 4.6's arent they?

i would never own a mustang, everyone has one.. i would own a foxbody though, simply because they look sick lowered with some chrome 18's and decent exhuast.

most people that try to race me are in the new gay bodystyle mustangs with v6's.. they just get annhialated. same with v-8s
