Give the guys at BIC Performance a call. They're in Langley, 1-604-534-5528.
I've never dealt with them, and I don't know if they do rebuilds, but they specialize in MkIII Supra's so at the very least they can hopefully point you in the right direction.
Bigaaron makes a good point here. Sure, the filter is designed to go for 20-25 years, but our Supras ARE getting to be that old! As has been previously said though, it's nice to know that the next filter will last far longer than we will.
Anyone here will tell you if it seems to good to be true, it probably is, and if you can't see the car, it probably doesn't exist.
Yeah, you're totally right. You know what I would like to do someday though? (And this applies to douches that write viruses and shit too)
Anybody remember...
So.... after an interesting thread about a 94 Turbo Supra that was way too good to be true,
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116042,
I thought I should post the details of this scam so if anyone else finds this Supra they can be aware of it....
I first found a "1994 Turbo...
That's pretty much what happened to me. I asked for a number from him or him to call me and that's when I got the bs email about "the car's in Prince Edward Island and in the care of eBay Motors bla bla bla".
I had a hard enough time believing it could be real, then he tells me the car that...
It's funny how that works - I had never heard of a car-scam like this, and then I look into one and then I hear about them all over the place.
After the "seller" started asking for personal details I backed right off, and then for shits and giggles contacted eBay (after a couple hours of...
Wow, you know what I love about you guys? If I ever need some perspective, or my intelligence insulted, I only have to ask naive questions on SM. :biglaugh:
(I'm looking at you madsupra88, GotBoost? and Slow SC3 :icon_razz)
I figured it was probably too good to be true and I knew that when I...
Yeah... I thought of that too. I'm not going alone. I've got a couple of friends who are 6'4", 240 lbs and were bouncers for a few years.
Besides, I can run faster scared of anal rape than Bubba can horny for pretty little white boy.:biglaugh:
Yeah, that's kinda what I figured, lol. I'm gonna be in the seller's area this weekend anyways, so if he gets back to me with a phone number I might just go for shits and giggles.
What's the worst that can happen? I'm not paying fuel for the trip and if it's a fake or a pile o'shit then I'm...
I recently found a 1994 Targa Supra upgraded to a T66 single-turbo for sale and I'm hoping to look at it this weekend.
Here's the thing though: the seller is asking almost nothing for it: $3300 firm.
It has 74500 kms on it, a whole pile of mods to complement the T66, and apparently is in...
I stand corrected a quick search tells me that I'm pulling numbers out of my ass. I don't remember where I got that number, but if i don't remember, and can't find it again to verify then I guess it doesn't count.
Whoops. (And thanks rwd)
:biglaugh:Agreed. I get this all the time in my small town.
I know how to use my head, but that doesn't mean I trust anyone else who drives my car (mainly the wife, and I always get nervous). Or who drove the car before I bought it.
Besides, it's also nice for some of the short drives...
I've noticed that we've got a few members on the forum here - some new, some not - that have the 1G-GTEU, and I've come across a few posts about it. I would probably be too late to jump into any of those discussions, so I thought a new one here might be helpful. I just copy/pasted my reply...
Well, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who makes a mess.
Seeing how awkward it was gonna be, I'm glad I waited for the oil to cool down, 'cause I don't know how I would have been able to explain burns in my armpits and not look like a tool...
That's what I was thinking too! lol Good to know that I'm not the only one who bitches about it.
Thanks for the link JDub, I've got it bookmarked on my computer, and noted in my Binder O' Stuff that I keep on the Supra.
Actually though, I'm surprised that the JZ-Swap-Pundits haven't piped...
I changed the oil for the 1G yesterday. I was all excited because I found a local dealer that sells Wix filters for not tonnes of dollars (in my small town of 5000 that surprised me). Drain the oil no problem, dig out my shiny new Wix and get psyched to put it in....
DAMN TO THE DEPTHS THE...
Wow, sorry that took me so long to reply to (computer issues). I haven't really played around with them enough to figure out if they're adjustable. I think I read somewhere that they are, but that was a Subie forum I was reading in, so I wouldn't rely on that.
lewis15498 - good call on the...
Alec: I don't know if they're identical, as mine are gunmetal/black, but it's possible that Bridgestone had more than one release year for their "limited release". Or they had more than one model for the release. The only reason I know (think anyways) that mine came out in 1996 is because I...
