My parts guy showed me the Monroe book listing and there's a foot note about having to disable the TEMS module for their shocks to work. I believe that's why the part number is the same for TEMS and non.

My local dealer quoted me 225 each! I found some Tokicos locally but the dude said he wouldn't split his last set of four at 135 apiece. I just want to do the rear right now.

Worked the counter 20 years ago. Just remember the frustration on both sides when something was swapped unbeknownst to the owner.

Alright, I'll operate off of that assumption. My experience has been with domestics and working a cheese-a$$ parts counter with folks comin' in with stuff that doesn't match what they say it came out of. Thanks for the info.

It's always safer to take a part in and match it up but often it's inconvenient or impractical. It would be nice to know some hard info as to the original application to facilitate calling around and sourcing parts. That's why I was asking about codes to determine same.

Like if I go to get a waterpump for a 88 Supra and the motor came out of say a 93 Cressida or whatever all the accessories will be the same?
