Thanks..
Decisions decisions..
I came across a GT4088, and am not sure if should use it, (not in the original plan) or go with what I have planned (sp61). This is for my black 91. The GT4088 TST is an incredible turbo with a huge range.
Any input?

Thanks!
Not headaches yet (haven't sunk thousands lol!)
Actually, the heartache I felt the after the last one I sold is my driving force. I sold it too soon wasn't ready to give it up. I am focused on doing it right as possible within my budget. I think most people on this board given the...
Here it goes.

Thats a great article! I am going to pull the motor anyways, and go through it. I met some folks who have experience out here in Phoenix, and I like to pull these motors with someone who knows. pulling it always seems to be the best bet, and I always try to get away with not pulling it..
Its ok to laugh.. And yes I understand/respect your experience and knowledge, but everwhere you read, it says to install the studs finger tight into the block first does it not? Its kind of hard to accurately judge finger tight when the head is on. 10 years in the Navy tells me to follow...
1. I thought so
2. In reference to #2 out of car seemed to be the best way to work on these engines, but the removal and reinstallation is a pain. I always did it with the tranny attached.
Is it easier to remove the tranny, and is there are easier way to pull the motor? I have done it...
Here it goes.. I am going to try to do this without looking like an idiot.
I have been searching and finding so much info on the whole headgasket issue. The difference of opinion is widespread and has left me a little uncertain. I am sure the HG has issues. It seems as if it isn't worth trying...
I was going to say "part of the fun is fixing them", but with these cars it had better be most of the fun.. But the time spent just in the maintenance alone is worth its weight in gold..
I can't wait to feel excessive manifold pressure again, whats a life without boost I ask you?
First off,
This site is killer! I wish when I built my first Mk3 I had just 1/10th of 1% of what I have already found.
Let me introduce myself, I am Scott, I own a landscape business in Phoenix, AZ. Cars are my passion... Period... (actually more like an obsession or addiction). I am on...
