This is basically a post telling the s**** story of my mk3, of someone who has no resources for cars. Don't read it all if you don't care for a personal story. (I refer to fluid light as bhg light, as that's what people told me it basically meant)
As a 13 year old boy seeing a silver mk3 with...
So in the last week i had to drive to my girlfriends house for the first time, which up a really big hill. My Supra hasn't over heated in months, only once and that's when i found i needed a new thermostat. So it's been a clean drive since then, but as i went up this hill i watched the...
Got my car back from the shop, The lazy L was actually quite old and when i pulled it it broke, they fixed that, and they found my knock sensor was bad replaced it, finally got the check engine light out now. Going to have to replece the middle piece soon since it's getting there. About $330 for...
*update*
i placed the gauges back in the car also on the speedometer cable, and went under the car with a drill and spun it, the speedometer moved about 20mph. So i believe the "long" cable is actually working properly, so could it be the small cable/lazy L thing? It seems it spins with a...
yes, it is not permanent in the slightest. I can take it off for the winter so it won't get snowed on, and the seals on the hinges should last a long time (More than enough) Plus if i get another i can get more hinges and switch them for seasons.
Can anyone tell if the nose is actually broken in half? i can not find any pictures for me to compare. I went in my pit and took it apart at the connection, and the needle does turn freely in the empty dash. clockwise and counter clockwise, but not in a small rotation, in a large rotation like...
oh, darn. I may just drive it to a shop with a friend following me to pace me. I don't care really, it's a learning experience. Might as well break it now than have it break when i need it like in the middle of a long drive. All in the process i suppose. Thanks!
oh, damn. Did you fix yours? if so how much did it cost? was it hard to do/ what did you have to do to fix it? Sorry for so many questions, just trying to get it done asap haha.
The louvers are held on by 6 hinges that have industrial tape on the back, which you then silicone down. The top two are optional, but i did them just to feel safer. they then have a plastic screw top that goes through the louvers and connects with the hinge. The tape and silicone took about a...
Today i installed my louvers, installed gauge faces, and got the speedometer and oil gauge to stop working. Pretty good/bad day for me. out of commission for awhile, hope to fix it or get it to a shop. going to miss driving it for time being.
Alright, i have a pit in my garage so it should be easier to get to things. Ill go over this and check it out when i have time, thanks for the suggestion!
OK, so this weekend i took apart my dash and took out the gauges to put on new faces. The oil gauge came apart instantly and broke as i took it out. ( I'm not bothered, it never really showed much help, especially that my 87 is N/A so i don't mind the gauge not working. So I put the dash back...
