yeah, but you'd still need it tuned to about 90% according to boost pressure, upgrades, etc. that, and i don't want to have to run my wideband all the time. just wanna tune to a certain boost level and leave it. thanks for the thought though.
Okay, so i've had my car running for a while now. i've gotten the Maftpro to run really well, with no surging, idle problems or anything. it's super smooth, in my opinion. but now i'd like to start pushing the components to their upper limits. this is where i need a little help.
my problem...
be persistent... but if he won't take the bumpers off, just take them(and the header panel) off yourself and have him paint them. they're easy enough to remove and it will definitely be worth your time to do it.
painting them off will allow for them to get the paint around the back edges of...
black with a semi-gloss clearcoat for protection. makes it flat looking without getting rubbed off.
also if you've used armour-all before, you'll need to clean, clean, and then clean again before painting. that stuff is not good for paint and bodyshops hate it!!
i do bodywork for a living and recommend you don't prep it yourself. first off, too many tools(if you don't already have them), materials, and time to make it worth it. and two, they will have to go over it again anyway(if they're a reputable shop).
$2500 for a complete paint job is great...
i got mine from the dealer and it was listed as a N/A.
at first, i went to pick up the turbo tps, but it ended up being wrong due to the to position of the stops. the turbo one had the stops going vertical and my tps had horizontal stops. had them order the N/A one(with horizontal stops)...
yeah, i thought about getting two .5" flanges and welding them together to make a 1"...but that would just be more work. and if i don't weld them, then it would need more gaskets.:nono:
but after i typed the first post, i talked to my father-in-law(since he does some machining) and asked him...
To the people using the ebay/ss autochrome(?) manifold and a somewhat good sized turbo...how have you gotten the turbo on there? i have a turbonetics t61 and the comp housing hits one of the runners. i've heard of using a 1 inch spacer, but who makes one(maybe i'm not looking in the right...
chris, i have a torque wrench and breaker bar if you haven't found any yet. you're welcome to use them if you want to pick them up. i'll pm you my number.
i don't have any problems using n2o. power is power, doesn't matter how you make it. it's all in the tuning. i've used n2o on three of my previous cars, and if i don't sell my NOS kit by spring, it'll be going into my current car as well. i'll let you know how it goes.:naughty:
