Yes, I'm holding my foot on the gas slightly (bout 1500 - 2000 rpm) for about ten minutes. It's not hard starting at all, starts up smooth, but when I let my foot off the gas she dies. No check engine light either.

Question: My 89 7M-GTE starts smooth, but won't hold idle speed until it's warmed up. Just bought it and haven't worked on cars since the 70's. In my day this would be a choke problem. Can't see that there are any missing or broken vacuum hoses. Comments ????????? Be nice I'm old.

Thanks for the input Mass. It's almost a done deal. BTW..... How did you fix the fuel door problem and where would I find a Targa Top Tool kit???

O.K. I found some water in the wheel well (looks like it's coming from the rear window seal) no rust yet, boost gage doesn't work, no owners manual, no targa top removal kit (no signs of leakage there), fuel door cable needs adjustment (won't open without 2 people), tail lamp light keeps coming...

If there's no BHG and the car has no major collisions, would $3,000 be a reasonable offer? or is that still high?
