Really? Uh oh, is it too late to go back and torque them down more?

    urgh HG :-D

Took it for a spin to work. I thought I smelt coolant, but I ran it through first and second to redline right before I got to the parking lot and I checked when I got out and did not see coolant where I did the other day. I'm hoping I fixed it.

    urgh HG :-D

well I can see the coolant residue and it looks like it's possible that it was comming from the very short hose that comes from the tstat housing to the metal coolant lines that run under the exhaust manifold. I need to get a bit longer hose to go there as what I have now seems a little short...

    urgh HG :-D

ok so, some of you may remember me from replacing my engine because I spun bearings. Well recently I went through BHG with the jdm motor (that I neglected to change the hg in because I'm an idiot and did not heed warning). So I put the old head from the motor with trashed bearings and a new HG...

Reputable machine shop in south metro atlanta?

I have the ever so fun BHG and I am looking for suggestions for a good machine shop south of atlanta (I am in Stockbridge) to deck the head and possibly do some other head work while it's off. I need somewhere that knows what they are doing but will not attempt to rape me and my bank account...

    starting down the BHG trail?

Thanks so much! I was looking for a thread like this. Chances are I have BHG, but I will continue to fight it until certain. The one thread linked to the thread you sent me said something about if you can smell coolant burning in the engine bay then it's likely a leak as you should only have...

    starting down the BHG trail?

So I spun some bearings in my old motor (NA), swapped in a jdm one(also NA) (replaced main seals, cam seals, water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, cam cover gaskets, oil pump, but we did NOT do headgasket which was dumb). We had slightly lower compression on #2 and figured maybe it was...

    Did I blow something up?

Haha, I surely did. Actually my friend posted this as the car was at his house. I let him use my account so he could search the forums for stuff when I wasn't around. The night we hooked it all up like that it was about 4am so if you can be any sort of forgiving ;) I wasn't there the next...

    Did I blow something up?

Thanks guys :) It does turn over now. We either fried the coil or the distributor isn't installed right, but I'm gonna go double check the distributor first. Thanks again.

    Did I blow something up?

Thank you :) Do you happen to know what #2 is/does, would that cause the starter to not turn at all?

    Did I blow something up?

Hi, well the car is an 86.5 N/A 5sp supra. I recently spun two rod bearings, so I cheaped out and bought a JDM motor which looked pretty good on the inside. The swap went pretty smooth until we went to start the car, which it doesn't turn over at all. My friend decided to "help" me finish up...
