I'm very surprised RCTS didn't know where to get them, seeing as how I bought them from there years ago.
The coil pack connectors are interchangeable with 2JZ connectors. The 2JZ ones will actually give you a more solid connection. A new set of 6 is about $50 from Toyota.
Check your plug gap...
To replace thrust washers:
- Jack up front of car so you can get underneath.
- Drain oil
- Un-bolt lower oil pan. It's a bunch of 12mm bolts, should take a few minutes.
- un-bolt metal splash-guard, and oil pickup within oil pan (another 4 bolts or so)
- look up, and you'll see the #4 main...
Sounds like plug gap more than anything. Make absolutely sure your coil pack connectors aren't cracked and missing their locking clips too.
Oops, I mis-read the above chart. red is 13.5v, blue is 12v for the same pump.
600cc/min * 6 injectors * 60 mins / 1000cc/l = 216 L/h = 57gal/h @...
Are you reading 7M BHG threads, or JZ threads?
The reason I ask is because they use two completely different materials for their gaskets. a JZ uses a 4 layer Steel gasket where as a 7M uses a composite gasket. They're going to react differently to the flatness of the head.
Even so, when I...
My brother did that on his Volvo, but they were clear.
Ours are red, it won't look quite as good. Besides, the center section already has a silver paint on the back.
And if you crankwalk your 1JZ, GrimJack doesn't stop making fun of you all night about it ;)
Your JZA70 shouldn't have a clutch safety switch, so simply starting the car in neutral, with the clutch up will save your thrust washers a LOT of wear. If you start noticing your RPMs drop at...
The rule of thumb I go by is if I'm replacing the head gasket with the same one, I won't deck the block/head, as it will warp identically to what it has already.
I've never blown a JZ head gasket either.
They start dropping flow dramatically after 75psi.
The red line is 13.5v, blue is 12v. Stock wiring will run close to 21v, maybe less. Upgraded wiring will run the pump closer to 13.5v
You're running dual walbros aren't you? Tell me your injector size, and how much boost you're running, I'll...
Don't worry about interference.
Get a new 1JZ gasket kit, it'll have brand new intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, as well as a new head gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new cam gaskets, and new valve seals if you new head doesn't already have them.
Get a new timing belt while you're at it.
The fitting you're looking for is a 12x1.5 threaded fitting on one side, and whatever you're connecting to on the other side. You could have a 12x1.5-hose barb if you wanted to be ghetto, my suggestion, assuming you're using -6 fuel line, get a 12x5 to -6 AN adapter, then put a -6 AN hose end on...
I seriously had this conversation with a guy last year"
"Hey, that's a nice looking car. Can I ask you a question about it?"
"Sure"
"Can you spare 2 bucks?"
Car is running well again!
I bought a JZA80 pump, and installed it. Wow, is it ever easy to drop the fuel tank in this car. Now it's running pretty good. It's flowing a lot more fuel than the dying pump was, so all of my tuning is now running on the rich side. That'll auto-tune itself in short...
