the second 2jz-gte for my friend's supra came today. After first look, we found "CT20" signs on turbines. But i used to think it US spec. motors! Not ceramic! And the donor - frontcut of Aristo seems pure stock... Quite enought to be sure that turbines wasn't replaced...
I'm going to see...
Ok, 2JZ is under the hood now... Now i wait for Denis, who have to weld and balance the propellershaft (yes, i found no better way then to cut-out Aristo's and supra prop.shafts and press and weld it in one...)
There are 3 weeks of vacation left, and i'd like to make something to front...
1) yes: pump, pulley, fan will fit, but probably you'll need to cut the cover bitween radiator and fan, or, maybe trow it away at all - not much difference. The better solution is to install an electric fan. It gives you more places for IC pipes
2) I have JZA70 stock intercooler...
as i told - i have 2jz-gte that came from T.Aristo.. So, you know Aristo's cooling system... Now i have to decide - whats to prefer:
1) to buy a pair of electric fans
2) to replace water pump and w.p.pulley, and add a fluid coupling with fan...
i'd prefer the first solution: it cheap and...
2 1jzsupraguy:
i'll take pics, but a little sooner - i stopped a work for 2-3 days due some reasons...
I made this:
1) front pipe was created from (?) 1G-GTE downpipe. Inlet diameter of pipe is the same - 60cm (~2,35") and the only diffirence is, can't find the right words, in dinstances...
unfortunally, i can't find front exhaust pipe ( shown there: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/ex/EX_2.html ) for my JZ.
I placed the order, but i think it's question of 3-4 weeks to deliver it.
What'd you say about idea of making it with usual, thin exuaust pipe?
it's all ready to swap. Don't ask me how it was to cut and weld the upper oil cap :) It'd be a temporary solution.
And now - i need to know the part number of upper oil cap, cause i have an opportunity to order it at the local toyota center, but they too lazy to look it in catalogue..
Chris bell: difference in connectors are not a problem... i only hope that timing and the mode how's turbunes work will be the same as it should be - sequental or parallel...
News and Questions:
1) i found oilpan! $30! :)
2) i have choose from:
- Ecu from 2jz-gte supra - $100...
Aristo JXS147 found on the "trashyard"... ("buy our genuin auto-moto parts", f*** - they ask $250 for ECU just because it were removed from a bigger car than usually!) :(
I going to look for ECU and oilpan on yahoo.co.jp, and need translator for web pages (babel.altavista.com seems not...
lagged:
i don't know what to do - i cant' find ECU from 2JZ-GTE :(
I have one from 1JZ-GTE... but i really dont' know is it safe for my engine to try it..
And, 30 minutes ago i visited my friend who trying to implant 2JZ-GE from toyota Crown... After 2 days of thinking he take 1G-FE pans...
My dream comes true - it comes with 2JZ-GTE that were delivered to my garage last evening.
But this engine from Toyota Aristo, in the west known as Lexus GS400, and it have some differences:
1) I need another (i don't know the right word) oil pan from JZ' supra or soarer. Can i buy pan...
