Actually you're right I think I do have ARP Studs because they look like bolts or nuts (not by the car can't remember)....and I believe matt (mkIIIsupraman18) said they were ARP when I bought the car
Sockets won't down in the hole to even get an accurate size, and he's not coming up here lol I wish someone would come up here that knew exactly what they were doing to take off this head, put my springs back on and put this head back on for me....
what the hell kind of socket do I use for the damn studs! It looks like a 14mm. But none of mine fit down in the space provided. Is there some specific socket I should be using?
I'm almost 100 percent sure I can't see it with flashlight or anything. I paniced when it happened and turned the crank to see if it would come back up...felt a little resistance and stopped....figured it got jammed...:3d_frown:
This would be awesome...I've tried the pvc pipe and obviously the spring compressors won't work for our cars since the springs sit in a little cylinder themselves. I think this honestly is the hardest part about this job so far.
Why the smart ass response. I actually think this a pretty legitimate question. If I need to do a full rebuild instead of just doing to top end I'd rather know now instead of something happening to the bottom end as a result.
I don't know if this is true for the newer cars, (if you wanna consider 89-90 newer) but my dad (who is 73 and is used to working on pre 80's cars) says that if you overhaul the top end the pressure will end up blowing the bottom. So i'm kind of worried about that. Any insight? I appreciate all...
