My car idles fine (14.7 afr) stock ecu with the 540cc with only -12 fuel correction in the safc. If I zero it out it would stall. I can't imagine even with the 620cc the safc can't control it at idle speed. I guess every car is different. There has to be something else causing it to run pig...
Have you tried running it with the stock ecu just to rule out if it's the blitz. When I tried my friend's blitz ecu my cold idle speed was so aggressive (smells fuel everywhere) till it's warmed up then idles fine drives normal. Werd.
Are you running stock 02 sensor? Not sure but I think the...
Okay sounds good. Have another questions.
Will the 1J map sensor work or should I upgrade to 2jz map? And what about the fuel pump, should I just wired it (12v mod) directly?
Thanks Justin.
I am seriously considering this swap but have some questions that I want to clarify. So for people that have done this please do chime in.
1-Will this ecu work on high impedance injectors? I have a sard 540cc direct drop in injectors.
2-I can get the adapter harness from Dr. Tweak and to...
That's another thing we're thinking as the cold start idle is very aggressive.
As for the caps, we opened it up and it looked pretty new and no signs of leaky or blown caps we can detect. I wish there's a way to find out but from what I read unless you know JAP you can call blitz.
Mine was the opposite. After the engine warmed up it runs fine with the blitz. Although when I took it to 5k rpm it just breaks up so I don't know if the blitz is tuned for higher than my 540cc.
The idle surges is what's annoying to me. My stock ecu idles perfect during cold start up. Hope...
Did your rpm go up and down and how did you make it idle at 900 during cold? Bypassed iscv?
I can live with high idle during cold but the surges (up and down) may not be good for the engine?
Trying my friend's Blitz ecu. It looks like it's tuned for 550cc injectors. I have a sard 540cc and was able to fine tuned it with my SAFC. Only trouble is I noticed when the engine is started cold the idle speed surges from 2300-2600 rpm. However, as soon as the engine is warmed up (about 1...
You can try to buy one of those spacer to mount the turbo higher on the manifold and then use a 45 degree AN fitting so you can keep the compressor clocked the way you want it.
