if the smoke is coming out of the exhaust, then no the valve cover gaskets leaking wouldnt cause it to smoke. if oil was leaking on to the exhaust and smoking under the hood, then it would be a possibility. also, a bhg is possible with out oil/coolant contamination.

my friend had one on his turboed neon that he called an srt4. open dp whenever you want, and when done, flip the switch, and a tad bit quieter.
