^^^^ ROFL !! BigJ, keep your ABS, it wont hurt and will not free up much room. What you plan on "mounting" in that area?? What ever it is Im sure it will still fit with the ABS in place ;)

^^^ Correct. The ducks marked right and left, and if you were to "filp & flop" them the front of them don't line up with the lip. No plans on sealing them up. If I want to I would just make a new set out of alum. and not use them. Plus I don't want to to drill or modify these in any way...

I'm not real sure how they will or do work. I'm sure some sort of aero thing goes on. Just like how the lower engine cover, covers up the bottom end of the engine but yet helps keep it cool. The engine cover goes between them so it don't seal them up. Maybe it is more of a " guidance of air "...
