And when swapping the rear diff, *I* personally think it's easiest to drop the subframe. car on jackstands and a floor jack is all you need... and a few friends to help guide it back into place.
I also pull the engine/trans together and I pull the harness through the firewall. :icon_bigg
If the cars are the same year, it's as simple as taking the turbo engine/electronics from the turbo car and putting it into the non-turbo car.
I literally just did one in a day.
*edit*
You will also want to switch out rear subframes or atleast just the differentials themselves so you have...
His clutch is either full engage or full disengage... There's no slipping it, so you have to rev the engine to prepare to move the car, then it jerks like a mother as you let the clutch pedal up the full 1/8" to disengage... The old rear subframe should be hint enough. One the trans prob is...
It's deff a r154... I doubt anyone makes a triple plate clutch for a w58. LOL
Seriously matt, you'll go through trannies like oil changes... Some squaregears may help IF anyone even makes them...
^ get a different clutch and that problem wouldn't happen. If the trans holds, something else is gonna break. That's a shit ton of power snapped onto the drivetrain über quick... You can't honestly expect it to last forever. Something has to give somewhere, I'd let it be the clutch...
Looks so much better than the day I had...
Mostly good news about my uncle though, he's doing well and his spirits are high. Was very excited when his entire family made the trip down to see him.
