    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

from what I understand, tampering w/ AFM scaling is dangerous because it skews your timing maps. one of my engines fried running a SAFC w/ a conservative tune on it (12 psi @ 11.2:1 AFR on a ct26) by fried I mean one of my pistons melted.

awesome times setting TPS (not really)

lol, hotel mechanic sounds about right (I've done that before)... I've got the certifications, but an extreme lack of experience, and pretty much no tools. it was simple as hell, you of all people ought to know. the extent of complexity is that I had the diagram upside down. flip it the...

awesome times setting TPS (not really)

that sounds pretty simple either way... it was just me working on it... the way I did it was REALLY simple too. like I said, all I had to move was 2 vacuum lines, and unplug the TPS (still don't think you even need to do that to see if there's a break in continuity, if there wasn't it'd mean...

I believe that's just a dampener that keeps the throttle from slamming shut (I took that off mine, I like my throttle to slam shut ) there's this thing called a IAC valve... it's a pretty simple concept

help me decide on a paint color 8)

don't get me wrong, all of that shit is PRICEY but then again, you gotta pay to play. Just keep in mind, my budget for the week is laughable... the most money I spend (aside from on the supra) is on gas I would think... bills obviously take the cake, but the vast majority of the money I make...

awesome times setting TPS (not really)

interesting advice Nick.... all I did was unscrew the tps to where it was a lil loose, break continuity between IDL and E2 @ .9mm and re-obtain it @ .7mm pretty simple... the only things I had to move were 2 vacuum lines and the plug for the TPS (and the TPS obviously) it was much easier...

    86.5 na vs 91 turbo?

weight and gearing... also gearbox as well... were these auto or manual, who knows? too many variables to be sure... what we do know though is that the 86.5 is the lightest of the mk3's, we also know what gearing each year model came with from the factory... just do your research, the info...

awesome times setting TPS (not really)

I realize back probing would be checking resistance of the entire circuit, even so, I believe the results would be the same if all I was trying to do was find a break in continuity between IDL and E2 in any case... I flipped the TSRM upside down and BAM adjusted my TPS... I may be a genius...

help me decide on a paint color 8)

I totally agree Beals, ventilation and dust control is everything... unless you want a shitty paint job Yeah, I do plan on doing door jams... could care less about the engine bay TBH as long as it runs good, I'm happy

awesome times setting TPS (not really)

well, just so you guys know... back probing or not.... the results are the same. The reason I back-probed (shouldn't have been any voltage) is because I'm pretty sure I adjusted my TPS that way back in 07 but STILL I can't get a break in continuity in the circuit... IDK what to make of...

Making the best out of a bad purchase - LS Swap

thing is though... I know the v8 breathes a lot, but a single gt35 should be able to make 700hp... I'd personally recommend going with a supercharger, since the v8 will have plenty of oomph to spin it, you'll get great response, and won't have to worry about your turbo setup spooling too hard...
