If you don't mind, I'm going to add that video to my rod knock diagnosis thread... Because that describes exactly the kind of thing that I'm trying to get people to understand. Mainly that you can't diagnose engine noise over the Internet. Period.
Remember that the ECU in the Supra is a learned value setup. First reset the codes, then give the ECU time to learn. If you've changed anything (like the AFM) the learned values are likely incorrect at this point.
I'm not going to debate what's "better" -- however coolant provides:
Higher boiling temps
Anti-corrosion protection
Lubrication for your water pump
Those are reason enough to run some form of coolant (be it water wetter or an antifreeze compound) in the system.
