Messing around with my car again.

Oh damn Jay sorry to hear that. It was TX2k9 when your engine took a dump on you last time if I remember correctly. It's been to hot here in Texas as well. I still need to pull my rear subframe and replace all the bushings, which I have them all in a box, and most importantly get my engine...

    Guess the spring.

Nah. They're definitely not mkiv springs.

    Guess the spring.

After. Sorry for the poor pic quality but it was almost dark. It's about 3/4 in lower.

    Guess the spring.

Can anyone guess what brand spring this is? Bought what I thought was a set of factory 90 model springs but when I put them on and lowered the car down off the jack stands it actually sits lower than it did on eibachs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The diamond in the rough. 1991 blue metallic turbo targa restoration

You would've enjoyed years of motoring with an OEM head gasket. Looks like you did everything right except that one thing so don't hate on the 7m, this is clearly your fault. You have a beautiful example of a MKIII Supra. It looks just like my old 91 I used to have. Good luck with the NA-T build.

    Aftermarket coil packs

Currently my Supra is down with a rod knock after the turbo blew and filled my intercooler up with oil. While I have the engine being rebuilt I was thinking about going ahead and buying new ignition parts. Has anyone bought the aftermarket coil packs i.e. Standard or any other brands other...

    The Mistress

Exactly what akito said. My list of things to do has grown exponentially since it got the rod knock.

I think I got it off Amazon. I've bought so much stuff lately I can't remember exactly haha. Yes it is a Denso sensor and its plug-n-play. Replacing it took 5 minutes. Unfortunately there was no difference it how it was running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Time for a little update. Unfortunately not much, if any, of it is good news. I'll start off with the hot start issues. After the car has been driven and sits for a about 15-20 minutes, it was almost impossible to start. Things I replaced: New factory Toyota FP VSV and FPR New Cold Start...

87 Supra Preservation/Modernization Build (Lots of pics!!!)

My new vsv came in the mail yesterday (Saturday) so maybe later today if it's not to terribly cold I'll try to replace it and the fpr. I'm going to replace those coolant lines under the intake as well. I ordered a new Denso O2 sensor and it should be here Tuesday. That should only take 5...

87 Supra Preservation/Modernization Build (Lots of pics!!!)

Great thread and you're car is beautiful. If the HG is original and you have 91k miles on it change it asap. Don't wait for it to blow and there is absolutely no if about it. It's when. I have not resolved my heat soak issues yet that Emilio mentioned above. Mine has great difficulty starting...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Paid to have new motor mounts installed. Feels like a new car now.

Paid to have the motor mounts replaced with genuine Toyota mounts and all I have to say is DAMN! It feels like a new car being so damn smooth and you can't feel it running when stopped at a light or stop sign.

Thanks. I wrote that to preempt the asswipes who are always so quick to be critical on what people pay for things. You want nice things you better be willing to pay. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't mind and yes it was a local deal from someone i knew. Let me tell you about them first. The wheels have been professionally refinished and painted, not powder coated. They are just as good as factory new. The tires are brand new, only 500 miles on them when I bought them. So for the...
