    Camp fire noise...

Maybe a poor little mouse (or some other small critter) has been cooking on your exhaust mani. :dunno: Can you narrow down the location where the sound came from?

    need help

It does sound the like one of the main issues could be the ISC. I had the same symptoms; it would idle pretty well while cold and then start fluctuating when it warmed up. Swapped ISCs and no more problem. I don't remember if I had a code 51....it was over 5 years ago.

    Drive shaft misfortune, measurements needed...

I did exactly the same thing (had the stocker hacked and re fabbed to one-piece) and also got told that the measurement needs to be taken with the rear suspension loaded. Not true. We have IRS and the diff doesn't move so you can measure with the car on stands. Make sure and point that little...

    You MUST see this

Nothing new to me. I think you should go through a few physics books from the library. Energy is neither created nor detroyed. It just gets moved around. We use oil because it's energy dense, there's a quite a bit of it, and all we have to do is pump it out of the ground and burn it. For us...

    You MUST see this

You're probably right about the legislation but I don't think it would be very effective anyway. I agree with trading coal, oil, nuclear...oops, I mean nookular ;) for sustainable/renewable sources but there is no way solar, wind, tidal, etc. combined could meet current energy consumption...

    You MUST see this

Far from new technology. Still pretty neat though! While each individual vehicle isn't burning fuel itself you have to consider where the electricity comes from. Most of it comes from coal, natural gas, and hydro. Shifting even a low percentage (say 10%) of current petroleum consumption...

Was it Racism ? Hope this an an isolated thing :(

For those defending the offensive behavior of the woman: Reverse the roles. How would you feel? Would you drop to your hands and knees, start licking her boots and slavishly apologize for daring to speak a language she doesn't understand in her presence? I didn't think so. Of course...

    Save small BHG with retorque?

I'd (and did at one time) go with option two. However, if you are already losing coolant, a retorque may only slightly extend the life of your HG seal. Which would be helpful and allow you to get ready for a HG replacement while keeping your car on the road. If you do one bolt at a time you...

    sputtering under boost

If you can't find any apparent boost leaks in the usual areas you might think about checking your injector o-rings and grommets to make sure they are seated and/or to see if they are cracked. Also, did you drill out or eliminate the J-tube restrictor when you installed the walbro?

    EGT temp question

That's a bad place for the probe. There's a lot of heat loss between that and your exhaust ports so what ever temps you are seeing are not at all reliable. I would move the probe to one of the runners or the collector. If you put it in one of the runners you get accurate EGTs...but only on...

I need expert opinion on this (pics)

Get the block and head milled. There's no way around it if you want to do it right. He's most likely turbo...look at the piston tops.

    Faster response?

Less rotational mass and no more carrier bearing to soak up energy.

    koni shocks, any good?

I'm running the Koni yellows at probably 3/4 stiff. I don't have a need to bruise my kidneys so these are good basic absorbers for a mild ride. BTW, absorbers won't stop body roll, only control the roll rate. Aftermarket anti-roll bars (with poly bushings of course) will give you a...

    anyone power steeringless?

I haven't had PS pretty much since I bought my supra in '01 after I removed the pump and most of the line due to a major leak and not wanting to shell out the $$ for replacement parts at the time. After driving like that for a while I decided just to leave it that way since I haven't ever had...
