A seller would be an idiot to have a fake bid placed on his ad by a friend for that much. Ebay takes 10% of the selling fee, so if his friend wins, he's on the hook for $900 in fees!
Added to my watchlist for sure, just to see what somebody actually pays
Damn it! I was hoping you'd pull your motor and sell the shell. I was prepared to offer $100 per coat of paint, but I wasn't sure I could afford it.
Seriously though, if it drives anywhere near as smooth as Ken's, I wouldn't touch a thing
This place did used to be fun Jake. Now, it's more of a used parts store. Many of the fun people are gone. Some of them mysteriously chime in once every 6-12 months. Some of us old fuckers that you knew before are still here, and we still love ya no matter which end of this country you call home.
If loosening the motor mounts and tilting the motor and transmission down, be careful that the fan blade doesn't puncture the radiator. Also, once you tilt the motor like this, you may be able to then reach in and feel the bolt you still can't see. This helps you guide your socket. You need at...
Don't settle in on 1.4 for your head gasket, until you know how much material is removed from the head. You will be trying to keep your compression ratios from changing due to the removed material.
What were your compression numbers? My guess is if you have a leak between 2 cylinders, you need a head gasket again. Also, if you replaced it once by just putting a head gasket on it, rod knock would not be surprising. Coolant in your oil affects your bearings.
It's just an 87........Chill!
I was impressed that the A-Pillar took so many blows and was still straight at the end of the film. They could not hurt it. Also, I knew the hood latch was not going to come loose very easy.
Is it possible that you are finally experiencing stock boost? If it wasn't running properly before, you don't really know what stock boost feels like. Any idea what it is boosting now?
Also, pushing it to max boost is not a good idea before a break in.
For your stated goals, the metal head gasket (MHG) is very good advise. Do not miss the advise on getting both head and block machined to certain RA specs in preparation for the MHG. You'll need to research the proper specs as I don't know them right off. And, be sure that your machine shop is...
Welcome!
I wouldn't be so quick to diagnose it with BHG without some hard evidence to support it. I'm not smart enough to give you any other diagnosis, but others may be. Is it a constant white smoke, or just an occasional cold start thing? Sweet smelling?
There's 3 things that point...
Take the bolts out of the pressure plate! As easy way is to take the slave cylinder of, and use an extension straight through that hole. Turn the motor at the crank pulley to get to each bolt.
Welcome! Very nice looking MKIII you got there. I don't know if I see $16K, but he did a really nice job in there, and a lot of the money would not be seen. I can see a pretty good bit of money.
ROLL TIDE!!!!!!
