Ya that is a good turbo. But I would switch out the 91 housing for a divided .83. They just started machining smaller housing larger to fit that turbo which is nice.
Buddy's 1j just did 410hp on 91 and it's was a pretty hot day
If the fuel injector is firing then it's not a fuel issue. Pulling the clip on the injector while it's running means it's missing either fuel spark or air.
What was the compression numbers?
Are you sure it's getting spark?
Try swapping coils and see if the problem moves.
Both are the same.
It's a simple circuit.

If you have 12v to the injector. Your good.
If your have a ground controlled signal from the Ecu then your good.
If you have a misfire on cylinder 5 such as a headgasket or...
Sounds like boost leak.
Perform boost leak test.
If reset the code 34 can sometimes not show up right away and would require lengthy time miss firing in order for it to pop up.
For the Ecu the resistance values need to be close. The stock sensor should be fine if different years. As they get used on all the engines.
Again you can check each sensor with a ohm meter and boiling the sensor in water. 3 different temps and resistance values and you can make a linear graph
Which sensor?
You can can boil the sensor in water and measure the resistance and check each one. Iirc doesn't matter just the connector is different. Should be fine
If your voltage is low then that is your problem. You need to trace it back from the relay to main fuse box and see where your issue is. Possibly wired wrong from the swap
