haha, awesome idea! but i'd like to see it get eaten alive as a whole car.
anybody see that car they sealed underground for 50 years? the thing turned to shit!! sadly the "bombproof" underground case they put it in to advertise its durability was not waterproof! lol....:biglaugh: :biglaugh:
i say fuck it and build yourself a custom tube frame/chassis where you then bolt up the stock suspension (save cost and fabrication) then drop in the engine. something like a nascar car without the body on and all the high-impact braces. that's a turbo car right? i think you got your money's...
allright, thanks for all the help guys. if i bought an e30 it would be one with a good engine...until now i didnt know much about how catastrophic/costly a snapped belt would be on an interference engine.
thanks again!
any ideas what could have happened? lying mechanic maybe? thats the only thing i can figure unless it really did just snap because of an oddball dud chain...
i'm curious now whats up with this thing. from the pics (i know they are horrible) it seems like a fairly well taken care of vehicle...
wikipedia said that the engine in the 318i went belt in the later years...but nothing about the 325 in that respect
so a timing chain, at least in BMW's, is a lifetime thing never supposed to be replaced? and nobody ever replaces them as such?
makes sence. its just that i dont exactly know how i'd attach such a mechanism to the forks and i dont remember what they look like. from memory all i remember is a small little thing that the shift lever was held in with (three bolts, round thing) and a small hole for the shifter to stick...
haha...yeah of course i'd get an m3 if i could, do you think i'm dumb? lol...but i cannot afford to drop 10k on a car nor do i want to unless its an immaculate 1jz mkIII with mild mods! lol.... thats the only car i'd want in that price rance. period. but an m3 is damn tempting. the main...
i JUST read another thread about not letting your car warm up for minutes but driving it instead (but driving it easy). one post even said how the manual even states begin driving about 10 seconds from startup...just enough for oil pressure. according to the thread, letting your car idle to...
I found this car...basically its an interference engine and the timing belt snapped and obviously screwed some stuff in the head. details i'm not sure, at the very least it's got bent valves...its a 1989 BMW 325i
i was wondering...
about how much, realistically, would i end up putting into...
piston slap occurs when the cylinders and pistons have not warmed up enough to expand and fill the loose fit when cold. thus any sideways forces makes the pistons slap the cylinder walls until they heat up enough to fit snugly. i suppose excessive cylinder/piston wear could attribute to this...
haha...yeah dogs rock my socks.
but i dunno cats rock...i have two.
look at this dog.
but then again...cats arent perfect either....
