discovered that my turbo has lots of shaft play.
on a related note............ anyone have experience with the sp bolt-on turbos? i really want a bolt on setup AND big hp.
well, it looks like i won't get to the dyno this year. the car started blowing blue smoke and it looks like it's the turbo.
everything is good with the motor, but the turbo has a lot of in and out shaft play. :(
hoping to get it fixed asap for tuning. i'll probably change setups to something...
i have an aem ems v1. i might make it to the dyno next week to see what she does.
i got a killer deal on some oversized forged probe pistons. they should be more than good enough for my goals.
on another note my turbo seals may be going, so i think a bigger turbo is in my future. :)
i just...
hey all. not sure i ever started a build thread, so here's what i've done in the past 3 years. :)
started with a rust free 90 supra that i scored for $600.
it wasn't running, but everything was there. since then i've been quite busy.. lol
under the hood:
rebuilt 7m. new bearings...
ooooh. very nice^
here's what i've been up to..
got my wheels and tires on, and finally got my running issues figured out.......
going to hit the dyno before winter hits, and hopefully post a good number.
don't mind the duct tape, that's where the damn deer hit me. :(
just got my new wheels on. xxr 521's. 18x10 +25 all around. :) 265-35's, but i'm going to do 285 30's in back this spring.
h&r race springs, kyb's, slight roll and a tiny pull. plenty of room.....
i ordered up some more goodies today. :)
sumeet hooked me up with some 1000cc injectors and an aem 320 pump.
i also ordered a set of xxr 521's. 18x10 + 25 in flat black. got some nice black muteki lugs as well.
hopefully everything will be here and the car finally tuned in time for the drift...
took a video of the fuel pressure, no drop.
turning the base pressure up to 50psi bought me another 1,000 rpm. i'm going to run 55 base pressure and tune it from there.
as soon as i get the cash, i'm picking up some id1,000's.
for those still following along.............. i turned the base pressure up to 50psi, and it didn't go lean.... even at higher boost levels.
does this mean that my injectors are too small? if so, then new ones it is. lol

i tried raising the base pressure to 45, but it still gets lean up top. i think somehow we're missing something in the tune or setup.
i trust my tuner 100%, so maybe the aem itself is acting up.
the problem has been there all along. i only tried the dual feed just recently to see if it helped.
i have an aem ems, so we have control over the settings.
i'm going to try setting the base pressure to 45 tomorrow and see how it goes.
i was under the impression that my fuel setup should be...
ok then. i'm bringing back an old thread....lol
reason being is i'm running out of fuel above 5 grand, and i found this thread while googling.
my car is running rich at wot..... until around 5,000 rpm and then it starts to go lean.
i've tried everything i can think of, short of getting bigger...
sooooo.
today i made my fuel rail a dual feed setup. i used -6 lines for the feeds on either end and used the cold start injector port for the afpr.
the car still leans out up top, soooooo i guess it's time for bigger injectors. it looks like my 630's are not big enough. :(
we thought we might need a bigger pump and/or injectors.
the problem is..... we're not losing fuel pressure and, the car goes lean whether we're at 11 psi (waste gate), or 15+ pounds.
