I couldnbt figure this out. I told Toyota my car was grey and they said "dark gray" and I was like, "um.. its not dark" and then he replied "So, Medium Gray then?" and I went for it. Turns out the $3 plastic cover to hide the screws in my passenger side seatbelt guide matched up perfectly...
Don't know from experience but I've heard others reccommend that you lap the block. Just spend as long as you feel like on it, though I hear it takes at least 8 hours to do it close to perfect. BTW, You want to lap it in a figure 8 style to get it correct.
There's atleast 1 that posts on SF and on Lextreme's forums ( http://lextreme.com/forums/ ). It looks pretty awesome. I'm not sure how much work it was to get it in there though.
And yeah, the 1UZ's can hold down alot of boost. If you get a chance, look at the internals of the 1uz, they are...
I paid $4400 for my 90 TUrbo 5spd Hardtop with mint paint and a few small tears on teh drivers-side leather. THe car is beautiful. No problems so far though I have been doing preventative maintenance. I looked for 8 months to find mine. I saw plenty of crappy beat up ones. You just need to...
I've heard that the Ishino ones are the same as Toyota but I'd rather pay a hundred or so more now just to have piece of mind and know for sure that I'm using the best gaskets I can buy.
So, where can you pick up a full set of toyota gaskets? I thought maybe I should just get a head set but...
What if you have never blown your head gasket though. Would it be possible to have the head machined without machining the block and still maintain reliability? I'm going to get mine done soon and I would rather not have to remove the entire block just to put on a MHG. Obviously that would be...
I was a gross polluter. I checked my timing and it was at 15* BTDC and I changed it back to 10* which is stock. Also, i changed out my spark plugs and changed my valve cover gasket to prevent oil from getting into the valleys again. Oh yeah, i also ran the car at 3000+ rpm for about 3 minutes...
I think I heard that the stock springs were around 440lbs. For the track, a coilover with ~900 wouldn't be bad. It depends on the track and the rest of the coilover though...
Full race coilovers for $1000? sounds good to me. Any more info on these?
