    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

On the way back to my house from a company picnic today, I happened to stop in the gun shop near work. Mainly, I wanted to make sure they carried the SIG P220s and Revolution GSRs, but I wasn't opposed to making a purchase. Ended up coming home with a CZ BRNO m98 in 8mm Mauser. Now I'm trying...

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

who eats candy while working on their car?!?! Don't you know that all work is to be done in a sterile room with protective sheets by gloved men in white coats? <looks at his dusty garage and driveway> Oh, wait... I'm starting to hash out a couple solutions for hatches in the cover that...

    the worth of n/a

I drove to VA once, averaged about 70mph ~2500-2650RPM, and I got 28mpg highway. That, however, was with an intake leak and running slightly rich the entire time (according to my a/f gauge). I fixed those problems, and now I get ~23-24 MPG combined. With the mix of driving I do, that's about...

Engine runs but lacks power after idle

I had a similar (?) problem recently. Car ran perfectly normal under a vacuum, but hit a wall at 0 psi... I was confused for a few minutes, but then i knew it was a boost leak. I didn't see any obvious cracks, so I started to swap the plugs out. Then I noticed that the hose from the 3000...

That was not my intent. I don't use "throwing money at a problem" to imply that its not wise investment. It's simply what gets done. Yes, in retrospect, my word choice was lacking, but I stand by my meaning. It was a neutral statement of fact, but I can see where it could imply what you just...

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

I guess what I'm trying to get at here is that, as a fundamental piece of mass produced equipment, the OEM cover is flawed (I know I said it wasn't before, but writing this changed my mind), but ADEQUATE. This is about the time one of those Toyota engineers comes in and makes me look like the...

Obviously, other divisions within Chrysler had gotten the design and changed it. Take the story for what it's worth, as it is anecdotal evidence. I think it's appropriate nonetheless. In case some of you think it's a domestic company problem, I will take Mercedes to be my case in point...

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

I want to start off by saying something. I am not trying to be hostile to anyone. I respect everyone's opinion, except for all the repeat "Just buy the damn part" people :-p\ Some of you will probably want to skip to the end, it's O.K. with me. Figgie, it seems from your reply that you...

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

I don't think anyone has bashed buying an OEM part. Yes, some people have said something about a group buy, it's not really what this thread is about. So we're wrong because we want to make something? I at no point said the original design was flawed. I also said that I am probably going to...

yeah, I forgot what size the blade was though. He lived in Maine, so I can see the reason for it, but still... He called it his "one-ton Subaru"

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

after I get home from work and volleyball practice today, i think i'm going to pull the supra into the garage and get a layout of the connection points and locations of things that it would be nice to access. Then I'll make a rough mockup of the important under-engine bits and connection points...

so sorry, but the toronto one is slightly more appealing... I'd say it wasn't necessarily a raise, i'll give it a call.

Whats your fastest highway mph ??

Indicated 135mph @6000 rpm in 4th... With my car, it's probably more like 120. That's the last time Dad ever gets to drive my car when I'm not there.

Like I said, I used the EPC, I just didn't find it. It seems as though I missed it, I didn't, after all, look THAT hard yet. I can find an appropriately sized aluminum sheet for around the same price as the replacement cover, steel slightly cheaper (but I don't want to use steel)... I'll...

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

I was doing a little bit of checking, and I can't even find a valid part number (Used the cygnus thing, found the part, but i don't think the number is current anymore or something) so I used the dealer parts order form at champion, and they don't even list it. I think I knew that I wasn't...

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

Well, apparently it let go and cracked around one of the bolts, and now I have this plastic parasite dragging on the ground on my way to work making me look like an idiot... I stopped 4 times on the way to work to tie it up in different places, and then I ran out of shoelaces (I was pressed...

We have progressive... I don't know if its our local agent or the company in general, but we've always found them to be helpful and accomodating. Also, for me, they are way cheaper than Geico.
