Stopped by a local audio shop and asked the guy there. Turns out, when installing an aftermarket system on a mustang with a mach sound system, you cant use the stock ground for the headunit. You have to create your own. So, i did, and it fixed the problem!

Its a complete pita. I got it.... after about 35 minutes of passing/ pushing/ twisting. Steps: 1: have skinny hands 2: lay directly under the trans 3: one hand up each side 4: Use fingertips to maneuver the plug into place 5: pray Have fun :)
